Dare to Compare?

The esteemed Miss Snark just finished a marathon of synopses critiques. Despite the rush of the holidays, despite the Punkin and I being a bit under the weather (great way to start the new year, staying in bed with the sniffles and coughs. Sigh), despite not having two functioning brain cells to rub together, despite all these things, I have read her critiques faithfully every night. All 99 of them. And I learned a heck of lot reading the work of those brave souls who dared face the Crapometer.

Me? I did not have the courage to send in my own synopsis. Mainly because I couldn’t figure out how to prune my long synopsis to the 1000 word limit Miss Snark set. I had a hard enough time keeping it down to the 10 page limit set by the Golden Heart contest. I probably could have done so had I really put my mind to it. However, my mind was definitely elsewhere most of December. Maybe next time…

Nah, you’re lucky that you didn’t try to cut it down in your breary condition. I cut mine from 2000 to 1000 works and messed it up big time. LOL I shoulda’ turned in the part I kept! LOL But I sure did learn a lot from everyone else. Several of the ones that Miss Snark thought were excellent, I copied to use the stlye as a template on how to write a short synopsis. Some of those people did really amazing jobs at being suscient!
