Totally Unnecessary Sidebar Thingy.

An article over at Romancing the Blog suggested using the computer game The Sims to create characters and then put them through scenes. Knowing my extreme addictive nature, I knew better than to actually get the real game (I would never get any writing done. The one time I played Civilization, I stayed up until 530am two nights in a row playing.).
Then I tried downloading The Sims 2 Body Shop, a supposedly stand-alone program that allows you to make your own characters. Tried an entire day to get the silly thing to work. Downloaded it from 2 different sources. Installed and uninstalled and reinstalled. I finally gave up and went to play elsewhere. (Anybody else have any programs they use instead? Or are magazine clippings still the preferred way to go?)
What I ended up doing is using Yahoo avatars to make a simple picture of some of the main characters from the works I have in progress. Now I’m putting them up in the sidebar as I work on them.
For example, I’ve been working on a science fiction/fantasy/historical recently. So I put the heroine, Dr. Sheridan Lee, up in the sidebar. If Brynna or Kyp or Tavi show up, I’m working with my fantasy trilogy. And Andrea is from Widow Walk, a historical romance set during the War of 1812.
A totally unnecessary thing to do, but kinda fun.
